A STRETCH of the A16 near Louth could have a reduction in the speed limit.

Lincolnshire County Council wants to introduce a 50mph speed limit on the A16 just south of its junction with North Holme Road and just north of Cordeaux Corner.

Lincolnshire County Council want to make the change due to the accident record and existing speed of traffic.

Louth Town Council welcomed the change but some said 50mph is still too high. Councillor Roger Featherstone said: "In my opinion it is 10 years too late but it is better now then never."

The town council said the change in limit should go as far as the junction with Fotherby and proposed to recommend it should be 40mph.

Great, now its going to take me even longer to get from A to B because we have to mollycoddle useless drivers instead of taking their licences off them.
