A PERVERT who filmed young children playing on Mablethorpe beach was caught thanks to the vigilance of a mum.
The woman noticed Terence Pearson taking an interest as her youngsters, aged four and two, were innocently playing naked in a rock pool on the beach.
Andrew Scott, prosecuting at Lincoln Crown Court, said that the mum had previously been warned by other people of a man who had been filming youngsters.
She then followed Pearson, giving a running commentary of his movements to police over her mobile phone.
When stopped by police, Pearson admitted having naked pictures of children on his camcorder. Officers later searched his home and found evidence which showed he had been filming other children and transferring the images on to a CD.
Pearson, 60, of Aqua Drive, Mablethorpe, went on to admit he had an infatuation with children.
He, admitted two charges of taking an indecent image of a child and a further charge of making an indecent image. The offences took place between September 2009 and 4 September this year.
The court was told he had a previous conviction in December 2009 for a similar offence.
Liz Harte, defending, said there was no suggestion of Pearson directly approaching any children, nor had he attempted to distribute the photographs to others.
He was given a nine month jail sentence suspended for two years with supervision and was ordered to complete a sex offenders' rehabilitation programme.
He was placed on the sex offenders' register for five years.
