A WOLDS cinema nestled deep in the woods has been chosen to participate in this year's British Independent Film Festival.
The Kinema in the Woods in Woodhall Spa is one of only 11 venues across the UK to be taking part in the film event on May 11 and 12.
Spokesman for the Kinema, Philip Jones, said: "We were delighted to be selected as one of the venue's to host this year's British Film Festival and are excited to be given the opportunity to be part of such a prestigious event.
"These sort of events are usually only held in London or other major cities so we are very pleased to offer local people the chance to see a variety of independent films on the big screen."
The weekend will see a selection of films which the BIFF promises to be the best yet, and includes a number of highly talented directors and actors, including Martin Freeman, Tom Hollander and Anne-Marie Duff.
Mr Jones said: "A lot of the films showing as part of the festival have been shown previously at major film festivals around the world including LA Shorts Festival, The Hollywood Film Festival and Phoenix Film Festival.
"Within the selection of Short Films there is The Voorman Problem starring Martin Freeman which was nominated for Best Short Film at the BAFTAs and Amore Passageiros which won Best Foreign Film at the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival."
BIFF festival manager Gabby Hermon said: "With an average attendance rate of over 90 per cent at all our screenings in 2012, this next festival is set to be even bigger, giving film makers more exposure, more reviews and more excitement for their films, whilst film lovers will get to see the 'next big thing' first."
