A 51-YEAR-OLD man has died after being struck by a train on the line between Boston and Skegness.
Steven Cooper, from Chapel St Leonards was pronounced dead at the scene on Tuesday, October 9 and British Transport police are not treating the incident as suspicious.
The line was closed until 6.18pm while investigations were undertaken.
A spokesman for British Transport Police, said: "The train involved was the 3.45pm Nottingham to Skegness service.
"BTP officers were called to the line close to Station Road, Boston, following a report of a man being struck by a train.
"BTP and Lincolnshire Police officers attended the incident, which was reported to BTP at 4.45pm and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.
"Paramedics from East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended but the man, aged 51 and from Chapel St Leonards, was pronounced dead at the scene."
An inquest into his death has been opened and adjourned
